Space53
Space53 brings governments, knowledge institutions, first responders and businesses together to form a drone innovation cluster. We are strengthening the ecosystem by creating the initial conditions for the successful development and application of unmanned systems. We offer a combination of high-tech knowledge and skills, facilities for testing and experimentation and close collaboration with governments and emergency services.
Technology Base is home to Space53. With its 3km long airstrip, controlled airspace, ample space, and remote environment, the adjacent Twente Airport creates a unique drone testing environment. The obtained permit allows it to conduct test flights with experimental drones and fly BVLOS. This has led to the right conditions to perform various drone projects, such as developing new drone monitoring technology, security concepts, and new drone applications as part of European projects. With the exemption, we can help Space53's partners save critical time. They frequently utilize experimental and uncertified technology. We offer them the ability to assess the safety themselves for testing purposes.
Finally, the activities of Space53 result in more efficient, more effective, and more sustainable solutions to issues on public safety, precision farming, freight logistics, and inspection and maintenance. The intensive collaboration within the ecosystem enables participating parties to realize a powerful competitive position in the sizeable global market with their socially impactful innovations. The mature ecosystem offers ambitious businesses and researchers the knowledge, capital, and infrastructure they need to develop their innovation.
